Attempts and Failures and Lila Bean.

So yesterday I quit facebook and went to Atlanta Vintage Books with Lila. Did I complete #13 though? Definitely not.
Atlanta Vintage Books is CLOSED ON MONDAYS. Of course it is. It was about an hour round trip, but was it worth it? Definitely. Lila and I have been friends since our families took a very eventful trip to Italy in 2006. Don't get me wrong, we were friends before we just really solidified our relationship then. And yesterday I got to spend some quality time with one of my greatest friends! Lila may be two years my junior but it has never seemed that way. She is incredibly mature and wise and funny and cool and sweet and beautiful to boot. She has always been confident enough to tell me when I am being ridiculous or looking ridiculous even if I'm not necessarily in the mood to hear it. That is one of the things I am most grateful for!
We have been blessed to be able to travel with each other from Italy and Mexico, to New York and the British Virgin Islands. We have gone to school together, danced together, and most importantly been Lake Rabun neighbors. And now we get to go to school together again!  Lila has told me that we have spent the last four 4th of Julys together (and she is the one with the memory so I'm going to trust her) and that this will be our fifth.
So here is to great friendship and allowing my list to really let me stop and appreciate it. I LOVE YOU LILA BEAN.

A sad to be leaving Lake Como picture.
A Lila is going to kill me picture from post dance recital.
A beauty queen prom picture.
And a happy graduation WELCOME TO AUBURN picture.

Meet Aaron.

And ignore the other two on the right. No really, please don't look at me. It had been a long few days of sweat and sweat and rain and sweat. Aaron is farthest left and the only one I'm talking about right now.
Aaron helped me complete #17. I met Aaron at Bonnaroo this past weekend. He is about to be a sophomore at WVU. I feel like I kind of cheated by completing this one at Bonnaroo because it was impossible NOT to make random friends from strangers. Everyone was so incredibly nice and friendly. Aaron just happen to be the only one I got a picture with. He also happened to be the most memorable encounter. Well, one of the most memorable.
I ran into him during the Weezer concert at Bonnaroo. I was in no mood to go worm my way to the front of a crowd looking and feeling the way I do in that picture (not that you were supposed to look at me, STOP LOOKING.) so I stayed behind and sat at a table. Not long after this Aaron and his friend came and sat in front of me. His friend was a little worse for the wear and was taking a nap in front of him so we struck up a conversation. We talked about our respective schools and our favorite shows and then he proceeded to ask me a question that I had never been asked. Since I am making a short story long I am going to just tell you the conversation with me saying "maybe that's not such a great idea Aaron.." and trying to convince him not to make a mistake. Well, what I considered a mistake anyways. He was very kind to me and respectfully disagreed.
All in all it was a very good experience and I am so grateful that my first experience to cross off was very good and definitely interesting.

The list.

At 114 days before my 21st birthday I made a list. It is a list of 21 things I have either never done, need to do again, or have always wanted to do. I'm going to need accountability to actually get these done so I figured this would be a great place to get both that, and a place to document my... experiment. Since making the list I have begun or completed a few and will keep you updated on my progress. Now, for the list!

1. Learn to play a song on the mandolin.

2. Read The Count of Monte Cristo.
(Why have I not done this yet?)

For #21 I will be taking suggestions, mainly because I couldn't think of a 21st one I REALLY wanted to do but also because I would love to hear what you think would be good for me.

Thanks for joining me!
